　　As to the question of the Foreign Language School which has been creating some anxiety in the community of Hawaii, I myself have been deeply concerned. Although I heard that the new law was promulgated regarding the operation of the school, yet I have not studied its contents. Nor am I familiar with the exact status of Hawaiian Japanese just at present. This makes me hesitate to express my opinion on the question, either for or against. At any rate, the court procedure undertaken by a part of the Japanese is a matter to be regretted. It is against the spirit of Japanese - American friendship. The outcome of the lawsuit will aggravate the situation. It will result in the self-defeat of the plaintiff, even if he may win the case. The matter will simply stiffen the hands of the Legislators. I had a careful talk with Mr. K. Asano, the Principal of the middle school in Hawaii, and asked him to prevent his

 countrymen from going to Court. Evidently the matter must have already progressed to such an extent that he could not stop it when he went back to Hawaii. I wrote to Dr. Harada to exert his influence to prevail on Mr. Makino of the Hawaii Hochi not to instigate other schools which did not go in for the lawsuit. I am very anxious to know what is the outcome of this.
