　　It is a great joy to me to know that the women of the whole world are seriously taking part in building up a world where permanent peace will be secured.
　　I, who have taken an active part in promoting good will and friendly relations between the United States of America and Japan, and who for the sake of humanity desire peace in the world, send to you, the members of the Women's Conference in Washington my hearty greetings and good wishes, and pray that you may have all success in whatever you endeavor to accomplish.
