My dear Viscount Shibusawa :
　　I cannot forward this letter from the Federal Council and the Commission without expressing my own personal thanks　to you for your remarkable help in making the adventure in Doll International Friendship so successful.
　　That photograph of yourself holding the two dolls, reproduced in the Asahigraph, impressed everyone to whom I showed it. I wish I might have a copy of the photograph itself to frame and hang in my office.
　　I may add that a letter similar to the enclosed is going also to Mr. Matsuura.
　　With prayers that you may enjoy still many years of health and service in the cause of international understanding and goodwill, I am, as ever,

拝啓、益御清栄之段奉大賀候、然ば基督教会聯合会並に国際正義及親善委員会よりの別紙○次掲　書面を御送付申上くるに当り、人形国際親善事業の成功に多大の御緩助を賜はりたる閣下に対し、小生の個人的謝意を表明せさるを得さる次第に御座候
朝日グラフに掲載せられたる二個の人形を抱かれたる閣下の御写真は小生が之を示せし人々に深き印象を与へ申候、右の写真一枚を得、額縁に収め小生の事務所に掲げ得たらんにはと希望罷在候
同封の書面と同一のものを松浦氏にも御送付致候間、併せて申上候
閣下には今後猶ほ多年御健康にて、国際間の諒解及親善増進の為めに御尽力遊ばされ候様奉祈候　敬具

Dear Viscount Shibusawa :
　　On behalf of the Administrative Committee of the Federal Council of the Churches of Christ in America, of the Commission on International Justice and Goodwill of the Federal Council and of the Committee on World Friendship among Children, the undersigned desire to express to you, to the Department of Education of the Japanese Imperial Government and to the many national and local leaders in Japan who rendered such important aid in making so striking and successful the welcome given to the Doll Messengers of Friendship their deep and hearty thanks.
　　We anticipated a wonderful welcome for the little ambassadors by the children and the schools, but we did not anticipate such remarkable receptions and welcomes as were arranged by those in charge of the distribution of the dolls.
　　We wish to assure all who had a share in those welcome receptions of the joy felt by scores of thousands of Americans as they have heard the reports from Japan and of the fresh tides of appreciation and goodwill for Japan that have developed here in the United States.
　　It is our earnest hope that throughout the years ahead the mutual relations of the United States and Japan will be increasingly those of mutual appreciation and goodwill, and that every difficulty that may arise between them may always be solved in the spirit of consideration and cooperation, for the perpetual peace of the Pacific and the welfare of the world.

拝啓、益御清栄奉賀候、然ば米国基督教会聯合会、並に同聯合会国際正義並に親善委員会、及び国際児童親善委員会を代表し、下名等は親善人形歓迎会をして斯くも目醒しく、且つ盛大ならしむるに付、極めて重要なる御援助を与へられ候貴閣下・文部省その他日本全国各地の主なる関係者に対し、衷心より深厚なる謝意を奉表候、多数の可憐なる大使（人形）は児童及学校に於て、多大の歓迎を受くべしと予期致候得共、人形配布監督者諸彦の御配慮によりて、如此目醒しき接待と歓迎とを与へらるべしとは思ひ及ばざりし処に御座候
幾万の米国人は日本に於ける盛大なる歓迎会の報道を耳にし、多大の喜悦を感すると共に、日本に対する厚意と感謝の新なる波濤澎湃として合衆国を蔽ひ候義を、人形歓迎会列席者諸氏に御確報申上度候

拝復、益御清栄奉賀候、然ば五月九日附貴翰難有拝誦仕候、先般貴国児童より多数の可憐なる人形を我国児童に贈られ候際、老生が我文部省当局者と共に微力を相尽し候に対し、米国基督教会聯合会、同聯合会国際正義並に親善委員会及同聯合会、国際児童親善委員会を代表せられ、鄭重なる御挨拶に接し誠に難有奉存候、今や右人形は皇室を始め殆んど全国の各小学校に配布せられ、我国の児童は貴国児童の厚き御好意に対し深く感佩罷在り、万分の一にても酬ひ度、目下考慮中に有之候、御申越の如く貴我両国間の関係愈々敬意と親愛とを増し、延いて太平洋永久の和平と世界の幸福の為めに、実質上の頁献を見得る事と期待仕候
