　　May I introduce myself as the Grandmother who is trying to do for American boys and girls what you are doing, as a Grandfather, for Japanese boys and girls?
　　Our work is to build world-friendship, which will surely lead to World Peace !
　　As Editor of our World Friendship magazine, EVERYLAND, I wish to thank you for thousands of boys and girls here for your great efforts on behalf of the beautiful doll project, which has made a deep impression thruout our country. It has touched not only the children, ― but men and women and high officials. If we wait for policies which are to come thru our Parliaments and Senates, we shall fail. If we prepare the hearts of the children, as you are doing, and as we are endeavoring to do, we shall find, in years to come, men and women who believe in this great principle. I do not feel it is a childish thing we are doing. You are leading as a great Statesman in Japan when you co-operate with the movement for World Friendship thru these Doll Messengers.
　　We are sending you 8,000 copies of our February magazine. It is our Valentine number. I think you know our custom of remembering St. Valentine's Day, February 14th. Japan has taught us many beautiful customs thru the children's festivals. This is one of ours, which is very dear to children. So, please take to the schools of Japan, thru these magazines of World-Friendship, this special Japanese number, which carries the love of the hearts of American children to your children.

拝啓、益御清適奉賀候、然ば閣下が日本の少年少女の祖父として御尽力被遊居候如く、私は米国の少年少女の祖母として彼等の為めに微力を致し居候義を先づ申上度と存候
私共の事業は世界親善の建設に有之、右は必ずや世界平和を招徠可致ことゝ存候、私は「エブリー・ランド」と称する世界親善雑誌の主筆として、米全国に多大の印象を与へたる美麗なる人形計画の為めに、多大の御尽力を賜はりたる閣下に対し、米国幾千名の児童に代り玆に御礼申上候、右は児童に対してのみならず男女の大人及高官に対しても感動を与へ候、若し私共が両国の議会などによりて行はるゝ政策を待ち居る時は、私共は失敗可致と存候、若し閣下並に私共が努力致居る如く児童の精神を訓練致し候はゞ、将来は此大主義を信ずる男女を見出すに可至と存候、私共の致し居候事は決して児戯には無之と存候
閣下が日本に於ける此運動と御協力被遊候時、日本の大政治家として世界を平和に誘導せらるゝ事と確信罷在候
吾が雑誌二月号八千部を御送り申上候、右はヴアレンタイン号に御座候間、閣下には定而二月十四日の聖ヴアレンタイン節なる吾習慣を御承知の事と存候、日本の雛祭は多くの美しき習慣を吾等に教へ呉れ候此ヴアレンタイン節は吾国の習慣の一にして、児童の最も喜ぶ処に御座候、それ故此等世界親善に関する雑誌の特輯日本号を、米国児童の親愛の情を日本児童に伝達するものとして、日本の小学校へ御配布被下候様願上候
私は此雑誌の主筆として閣下を通じて、日本に対し此親善の表明を為し、御親切並に優美なる人形の賜物に対する深厚なる感謝の意を奉表度と存候　敬具

　　I have a letter from Mrs. Peabody under date of February 8th. Evidently, I did not realize that I was to clear this with you in regard to the Valentine Everylands for Japan. These should, of course, be sent as immediately as possible, either by fast freight at low cost or by express. Mrs. Peabody states that Everyland is meeting the expense as it is her own project.I understand that 8,000 copies are to be sent to
