My dear Viscount Shibusawa:
　　Dr. Mori is leaving us for Japan on a mission that he will explain to you, and I know you will give him sincere and good advice.
　　I had a very successful trip around the Pacific and think we will have a great conference here next summer of those interested in Food Conservation in the Pacific. I am getting out a special number of the magazine (January) on this matter, and will send you copies. It will interest you to know that we have just received a letter from President Coolidge accepting honorary presidency in the Pan-Pacific Union, and assuring us of his hearty approval of our work and promising every cooperation. We expect to use both your photograph and his in this number.
　　I sincerely hope that none of your people were injured in the terrible disaster. Our hearts rae filled with sympathy, and if there is any service we in the Pan-Pacific Union can do for the people of your country, do not hesitate to call on us.

拝啓、毛利博士は今回或る使命を帯びて帰国相成候、右使命のことは同氏より閣下に御談可有之と存候が、閣下に於せられても、同氏の為め可然御助言賜り候はゞ幸甚の至に存候
小生は太平洋諸国を旅行致し大いに得る処有之候、明年夏季には太平洋食糧保存会議を当地に開催可致候、此問題に関し一月号の雑誌を編輯可致候へば出来の上は拝送可仕候、クーリツヂ大統領は我太平洋同盟の名誉会長たること承諾せられ、猶ほ我事業に深く賛同の意を表せられ、将来出来る限り援助を与へらるゝ旨来書に接し候、一月号の雑誌には閣下並にクーリツヂ氏の肖像を掲ぐる筈に相成居候
過般の可恐大震災に際しては御一統様御無事なりし事と存候
大災厄誠に御同情の至にて、若し我等太平洋同盟のものにて貴国民の為御援助申上げ得べき事も候はゞ御遠慮なく御下命の程待上候　敬具
