　　It was very thoughtful in you and Mrs. Rockefeller to send me an invitation to be present at marriage reception of your daughter Miss Abby Rockefeller and Mr. David Meriwether Milton on Thursday, the fourteenth of May at five o'clock at Ten West Fifty-Fourth Street, New York City.
　　As it is impossible for me to attend the reception on account of distance and illness, I desire to express through your courtesy my hearty congratulations to the bride and groom.
