　　　　日米関係委員会設置ニ関シ報告ノ件
当地ニ於テハ従来日米人間聯鎖機関ヲ欠キ居タル為排日問題其他通商関係等ニ付、日米共同動作ヲ取ルノ便宜ヲ有セザリシ処、先般当地商業会議所ヨリ、東洋視察ノ為派遣セラレタル通商委員「ゴルドン」氏（Mr. C. M. Gordon）ノ帰羅ヲ好機トシテ、同氏視察ノ結果ヲ具体化スル為、此ノ際同会議所内ニ於テ日米関係委員（Japanese Relations Committee）設置ノ必要ヲ力説シタル結果、先ツ同会議所貿易発展委員会及港湾並貿易委員会（Trade Extension Committee, The Harbor and Foreign Trade Committee）ニ於テ満場一致右委員会設置ヲ可決シ之ヲ商業会議所幹部会（Board of Directors of Chamber of Commerce）ニ提案シ、同幹部会ハ又満場一致ヲ以テ之ヲ可決シ、玆ニ日米関係委員会ノ設置ヲ見ルニ至リ、三月二日同会議所会頭「プリダム」氏（Mr. R. W. Pridham）ヨリ夫々別表ノ通リ日米両国人委員弐拾壱名、並ニ同委員長トシテ「ゴルドン」氏ヲ任命シ、三月六日第一回委員会会合ヲ催シ今後ノ措置ニ付種々打合ヲ為シ、尚同委員会設

　　　　　　　　　　　　　of the
　　　　　　　　　　BOARD OF DIRECTORS
　　　　　　　　　　　　　of the
　　　　　　　LOS ANGELES CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
　　WHREAS the Board of Dicretors of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, acting on behalf of its general membership, and particularly in response to a recommendation of the Harbor and Foregin Trade and Trade Extension Committees, did, on May 1st, 1924, authorize Mr. Christopher M. Gordon to proceed to the Orient on a mission of goodwill and in furtherance of good trade relations, and
　　WHEREAS Mr. Gordon was generously and hospitably received by the Associated Chamber of Commerce of Japan and by the Government officials and business men generally, and
　　WHEREAS Mr. Raita Fujiyama, Prseident of the Associated Chamber of Commerce of Tokyo, expressed to Mr. Gordon the hope that the Los Angles Chamber of Commerce would create a Japanese Relations Committee similar to those now in existence in New York, Boston and San Francisco to cooperate with the American-Japanese Relations Committee of Tokyo and to otherwise aid in the realization of the common desire to maintain and strengthen the traditional bonds of friendship, now there be it
　　RESOLVED that the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce reciprocates the desires of the Tokyo Chamber of Commerce and does by these presents create the Japanese Relations Committee of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce; and it is further
　　RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be sent to the Associated Chamber of Commerce at Tokyo, the Office of Foreign Affairs of the Imperial Japanese Government at Tokyo, Government General of Chosen at Keijo, Government General of Taiwan at Taihoku, Gorvenor of Kwantung Leased Territory at Port Arthur, South Manchuria Railway Company at Dairen, and the local Japanese Chambers of Commerce; and it is further

　　RESOLVED that a vote of thanks and deep appreciation be extended Mr. K. Wakasugi, Japanese Consul at Los Angeles, for his painstaking efforts and most constant cooperation with the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce in insuring the successful carrying out of the mission of Mr. Christopher M. Gordon, Trade Commissioner of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, to the Orients; and also that a copy of this resolution be sent Mr. Wakasugi.

　　　　1. Announcements:
　　　　　a. Inform the Associated Chamber of Commerce of Japan of the creation of a Japanese Relations Committee of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, with the request that all its members be made acquainted with this fact.
　　　　　b. Also inform the following:
　　　　　　Japanese Foreign Office at Tokyo
　　　　　　Governmant General of Chosen at Keijo
　　　　　　Government General of Taiwan at Taihoku
　　　　　　Governor of Kwantung Leased Territory at Port Arthur
　　　　　　South Manchuria Railway Company at Dairen
　　　　　c. Request all the above named to give notice to the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce of forthcoming visits to Los Angeles of significant Japanese.
　　　　　d. Inform the above mentioned of our intention to acquaint them with information as to any forthcoming visits to Japan of significant business men and others of prominence.
　　　　2･ Reception of Japanese Visitors :
　　　　　a. Establish cooperative understandings with the Chambers of Commerce of San Francisco, Portland, Seattle and New York whereby we mutually agree to inform one another of the expected arrivals of Japanese visitors and the furnishing of such other information in connection therewith

 as will be helpful in formulating plans for the proper reception and entertainment of said visitors.
　　　　　b. Establish similar understandings with Japanese Chambers of Commerce, organizations, clubs, Consular officials, etc. in the cities named above, for the purposes outlined in 2-a.
　　　　　c. Arrange for the entertainment of visitors.
　　　　　d. Hold business conferences, reporting thereon to the Trade Extension Department of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce.

　　The formation of a Japanese relations committee by the board of directors of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce has been made on the recommendation of the harbor and trade and trade extension committees of the chamber following the return recently of Christopher M. Gordon, the chamber's trade envoy to the Orient.
　　During his mission in the Orient Mr. Gordon was hospitably received by the Associated Chamber of Commerce of Japan and by the government and business men generally. Raita Fujiyama, president of the Associated Chamber of Commerce of Tokyo, expressed to Mr. Gordon the hope that the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce would create a Japanese relations committee similar to those now in existence in New York, Boston and San Francisco, to co-operate with the American-Japanese relations committee of Tokyo and otherwise to aid in the realization of the common desire to maintain and strengthen the traditional bonds of friendship.
　　A vote of thanks and deep appreciation was extended by the chamber directors to K. Wakasugi, Japanese consul at Los Angeles, for his co-operation with the chamber.

ゴルドン氏は日本商業会議所聯合会、官吏及び一般実業家より鄭重且つ盛大なる歓迎を受けたり、東京なる日本商業会議所聯合会々長藤山雷太氏は紐育・ボストン・桑港に於けるが如き日米関係委員会をロスアンゼルス商業会議所にも設立し、両国の伝統的親善を維持増進すべき一般的希望の実現に資せん事をゴルドン氏に希望せられたり

ロスアンゼルス商業会議所は東京会議所の希望に添ひ、本日の出席者によりロスアンゼルス商業会議所日米関係委員会を組織し
尚ほ本決議文を東京なる商業会議所聯合会、東京の外務省、京城の朝鮮総督府、台北の台湾総督府、旅順の関東都督府、大連の南満洲鉄道会社及日本の各地の商業会議所に送附し
尚ほロスアンゼルス商業会議所貿易委員ゴルドン氏の東洋旅行の使命を全うせしむる為め、ロスアンゼルス商業会議所と提携し多大の尽力ありしロスアンゼルス駐在領事若杉要氏に対し深厚なる謝意を表すると共に、此決議文の写をも同氏に送付する事を決議す

ロスアンゼルス商業会議所幹部会により日米関係委員会の設立せられたるは、同会議所貿易委員クリストフアー・エム・ゴルドン氏が最近東洋より帰来したる際、港湾・貿易並に貿易発展委員の力説に基きたるものなり
ゴルドン氏は其東洋旅行中日本官民より深厚な歓迎を受けたり、東京なる日本商業会議所聯合会々長藤山雷太氏はロスアンゼルス商業会議所内に、紐育・ボストン・桑港に今日已に設けられ居るものと同一の日米関係委員会を設け、東京の日米関係委員会と提携し、両国間の伝統的親善関係の維持又増進に資せんとの一般の希望実現に後援あり度しとの希望を披瀝せられたり
ロスアンゼルス駐在領事若杉要氏が会議所と提携して尽力せられたるに対し会議所役員は深厚なる謝意を表す
